Local business support for the Fallings Sands Viaduct appeal

The Severn Valley Railway is hugely important for businesses in the local area and beyond. By attracting visitors, it boosts the regional economy, and provides employment directly and indirectly for many hundreds of people. It's a real asset that's great for local businesses, including yours!

Did you know that for every £1 spent at the SVR itself, a further £2 is spent in the local economy? The Railway is good for business – and good for your business too. When the SVR was forced to shut down after the floods of 2007, local businesses suffered greatly, with some even closing their doors for good.

For £100, Your business's name will appear on our specially created donation wall and there's the opportunity to promote your business to our 250,000 annual visitors through our social media pages.

You'll also receive a certificate acknowledging your business's support and a window sticker to show that you're behind the SVR, an important local heritage asset.

Local business support is part of our appeal to raise £275,000 before the end of 2018 – which in turn will help unlock a further £1 million from the Heritage Lottery Fund – to carry out the necessary work on the viaduct.

If we exceed our target for this appeal, the additional funds will be invested in other SVR infrastructure projects

Thanks to National Lottery players, we've already been awarded a grant of £71,800 to refine and develop our bid to the Heritage Lottery Fund for a full grant of £1 million. We will submit our bid in October 2018, and receive HLF's final decision early in 2019. A key factor in winning HLF's support is our ability to independently raise £275,000 towards the costs of restoring Falling Sands Viaduct.
